with Dr. Robert Corliss

About the Guest: Dr. Corliss is board certified in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He also completed a fellowship in the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office in Minneapolis.

About the Guest: Dr. Fiedler is a cardiothoracic surgeon here at the University of Wisconsin. She attended George Washington University School of Medicine before completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. She then went on to complete her residency in general and cardiothoracic surgery followed by a clinical surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital

with Dr. Jason Stephenson

About the Guest: Dr. Stephenson is a clinical radiologist and assistant professor of Radiology here at the University of Wisconsin. He earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO before completing both his residency and fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. Dr. Stephenson has clinical interests in soft tissue and bone biopsy, spine and joint injection, vertebroplasty, and musculoskeletal MRI to name a few. Additionally, Dr. Stephenson is deeply involved in medical education, serving as the Director of Medical Student Education and as the Director of the Radiology Clerkship Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

About the Guest: Dr. Lubner is a faculty member in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at UW-Madison. He completed medical school here at UWSMPH, his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology back at UWSMPH. He directs the Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship program and serves on the Education Committee for the Department of Medicine.

About the Guest: Dr. Ghafoor is an addiction medicine psychiatrist based out of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. She began her training by completing an accelerated B.S./M.D. program through Villanova University and Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Ghafoor completed her residency in Psychiatry at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ where she also served as the Chief Resident. Dr. Ghafoor completed a one-year clinical fellowship in addiction psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ghafoor has special interests in addiction, eating and mood disorders, and women’s mental health. Additionally, Dr. Ghafoor now serves as the Assistant Medical Director for the Drug & Alcohol Division at the Wedge Recovery Center and is the co-founder and current president of Fitness Recovery, a nonprofit organization in the Philadelphia area.

Episode 6: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

About the Guest: Dr. Poore is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He earned his medical degree and PhD from Brown University before completing his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UW Hospital. Dr. Poore then completed a fellowship in Microsurgery and Research at the Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery in Melbourne, Australia in 2010. His clinical interests include microvascular surgery with an emphasis on breast reconstruction, hand reconstruction and post-bariatric body contouring.

Episode 7: Internal Medicine
with Dr. Barron Lerner

About the Guest: Dr. Lerner is a practicing internist and professor at the New York University Langone School of Medicine where he teaches medical ethics and the history of Medicine. Dr. Lerner earned his medical degree from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Washington. He is also an accomplished author, having published articles in the New York Times and The Huffington Post, and having written several books.

Dr. Svenson has a number of interests including global health, medical education, and emergency care.
